Communication is vital during every step of game production. Team Strom knows this. From start to finish, we do and will answer questions, ask questions, follow-up and check-in. That is what we are here for.
We are on your team.

Steps To Production

Specification sheet

You’ve come up with a great game idea but have no idea where to start in the manufacturing process.

A great place to start is by having a list of all the components such as cards, dice, game box, etc., that will be in your game along with the dimensions of each.

With this information, we can start to build the specification sheet that your quote will be based on. Our quotes will always list the cost of each individual component so that you can see what is driving the manufacturing cost of your game.

Artwork creation

Once we’ve provided you a quote and you’ve determined the price fits your cost model, we can provide you with all necessary art templates (die lines) that your graphic artist can use to layout the art of the individual components into. These templates will show you all the cut and score lines. These will help eliminate any errors with artwork registration that may be encountered in production.

After your artwork is complete, you can submit it to us using Dropbox, WeTransfer, or some other file sharing service. If those aren’t available to you, we can set up a login for you on our ftp server where you can upload the files directly.

Proofing

At that point, we will impose the files for printing and send you PDF files for initial proofing. It’s very important to check these carefully for any spelling/punctuation errors, and also to make sure there is no missing text or graphics that may have shifted.

Once these are approved, we will send you hard copy ( Epson ) proofs along with an unprinted sample. The Epson proofs are your last chance to check for any graphic errors as these represent what the print plates in mass production will create. The white sample is made using the same materials quoted to the dimensions in your specifications. It is very important to check both the Epson proofs and white sample for accuracy. If anything is in error, this is our last chance to make corrections before going into mass production.

Mass production

If everything looks good at this point, we will move into mass production. Depending on the components and complexity of your project, this generally takes 30 – 45 days to complete. Once we’re done, we’ll send a final sample for your approval.

Freight forwarding

If you have a freight forwarder you work with, we will book the shipment with them after receiving your final destination information. If you don’t have a freight forwarder, no worries. We can assist you in getting the shipment to your final destination using our trusted forwarder that we have worked with for the last 15 years.

We hope this overview of the process has been helpful to you. If there are any questions we can answer for you, feel free to email or call us at any time. We’ve done this a LOT, and we’re confident we can answer any questions that may arise from concept through completion.
